Shipt: Same Day Delivery App Reviews

Great idea poorly executed

I finally gave up on Shipt service after so many different shoppers picked wrong items (brand, size, or type like nonfat, etc), missing items (who forgets bread?), horrible fruit selections, snotty attitudes (not all but most), poor communication, lateness, and DELIRIOUSLY HAPPY customer service reps who began taking 3-5 days to resolve issues. The mark up on some items are more than 20% and they encourage customers to tip, tip, tip. Im not rich. The membership is $99/year, mark up ranges from 10 to 20%, and shoppers expect $5 tip per $35 order. I cancelled my membership because it became a hassle reaching customer service for problems with 80% of orders. Maybe the service is different in other areas, but certainly not mine. I live in a nice neighborhood which is 8-10 minutes away from grocery store.

Awesome!

Such good customer service! Makes my life so much easier. This is especially useful if you have kids!

This is genuis!

I absolutely love love love this service. It is so clutch and so convenient. All the personal shoppers are so friendly and extremely helpful. Shipt even gives you a free trial period to try it out! You cant go wrong!

Awesome and super convenient

I have only used this a couple times but I have had great experiences both times! Super convenient! The app doesnt include every item in the store but you can always add something in manually if you cant find it. Ive been recommending Shipt to all my friends :)

Easy and Efficient!

Love this app and obsessed with this service. Super cute design. Major fixes that now make it even easier to use. Love love love!

A work in progress

The Shipt app is hard to maneuver. The items are in strange order, for example there will be a meat product right next to tissue paper. I can search by category but then only by subcategories, which means unnecessary back and forth clicking. The search tool isnt great, but works, which means I need to know what Im shopping for--which isnt always the case! Dont even get me started on pricing! They regularly charge a premium for even sale items. For example, red potatoes at the store $3.99, on Shipt, $4.99. Ok, I know they have to make money, but this is just one small example. A pie I wanted in store, $5.99, Shipt was $8.79. Now this is going too far, and every single item you order is marked up in such a way. And here is the catch, even with a subscription, if you order less than $35 you are charged an additional fee. For me, Shipt is promising, but they have to find a way to bring the item pricing down, which I cant really see as you are having someone personally shop for you. I believe in a good tip, so the $10 tip + $8 monthly fee + inflated grocery prices, and it is not for me. Ill use in a pinch, but it is far more cost effective for me to use Express Lane services at my local Harris Teeter.

Give all the awards.

Sure there is a membership fee and a markup: Im getting my groceries shopped and delivered to my door. The ingredients to make a pizza dont cost $20. But I will gladly pay it if it means someone else is making it and bringing it to me in my sloth like state. Shipt is amazing and worth every dime. The customer service is fantastic and if my husband can make mistakes grocery shopping for me, I can understand that occasionally a shopper I dont know might get a wrong item. But Shipt has always refunded it and made it right, sometimes beyond what was fair. If you want to have your groceries shopped for you by a company that is easy to get in touch with, Shipt is for you.

Good service, minor flaws

I got this service as a gift, free delivery for a year. After my year is up, I probably wont use it unless they make some changes because this could be a great service if they make a few changes. Starting with the good, the app is easy to use and the shoppers are amazing. The bad that makes it a deal breaker is I shop organic and the website has a small organic section but half the things I order are not available once the shopper gets there. They dont always have what the website says they have. The prices are WAY to high. If they used more stores in my area, get more organic selections and have what they say they have online, this service would be awesome. I would even be willing to pay a little more. Its convenient to have this service but not when I have to go to the grocery store myself to get the items Shipt didnt have and discover Im saving more money.

More Expensive Than Advertised

I really love the concept of delivery - it was super convenient and with my crazy schedule I wish this was something I could afford to use regularly. The mark up on items is significantly higher than the $5 they advertise - my order was marked up from $59 to $87 (Im not sure if the shopper was supposed to leave the receipt in the bag or not). Add to that a monthly service fee AND you are expected to top. I even tried to email them about it and received a very vague and half hearted response.

Seriously?

Cool concept but poorly executed. Total bill had a 30% markup vs in store prices and delivery took over a day. Meh

Great service!

Im so happy I discovered Shipt! The app is easy to use and I really like that they match sales to my local Publix!

YES

I love this service--the app is easy to use, and Im getting my groceries delivered to my door! Add to that the excellent customer service and Shipts sincere interest in their customers happiness, and you have made me a member for life!

Great concept - app needs a little work

The service has been life changing for me as a working mom. My shoppers have been great. I use the notes and "request item" for things not listed but that I know my store has. BUT... Why do I have to log in every time I use the app? And then have to click through the four welcome screens when Ive used it repeatedly? Really annoying. Deli meat and cheese should be available in fractions other than .5 or 1. I always get 2/3 lb. shouldnt have to use notes for that. Shopping list should be populated in order of what Ive bought the most. Thanks!

Great Service!!!!

I am recovering from a bone marrow transplant & cannot be out in public yet. My caregiver has been ill & we really needed groceries. This service is fantastic & worked exactly as promised. They gave me name & pic of shopper. Then I got texts fm her on items not in stock for substitutions. She kept in good contact along the way & delivered on time. Great

Awesome

I just took advantage of this for the first time, not only was it easy, the driver Rosa was so wonderfully pleasant. I requested non ripe bananas and she took pictures and text me to make sure they were to my liking. This company is amazing and has made my life much easier!

Great service!!

LaKenya was extremely friendly and gave helpful tips. I hope I get her every time!!

Great Service

I love Shipt. The service is incredibly convenient. The app is easy to use, you shop for groceries then place an order and a little while later your groceries show up! That easy.

Limited service

Yes you do the shopping IF the person lives close enough that the need is less. How about the rest of us thats in need beyond the city limits???

Unsure of this already

I signed up for membership for the year rate but had second thoughts after placing my shopping order. I cancelled the order and tried to delete all information from their site but my name, address are still showing and cant be removed. I deleted the order & my credit card# on file which did seem to be removed as its asking me to start membership. Now, looking at my credit card transactions, theres a $25 Shipt charge. Why? Its seems odd to me.

Awesome! Xcept... By

Since the recent upd8 it has become non-responsive. Ill touch on something & it does absolutely nothing. Hopefully this will b fixed in a future upd8. Its not my iDevice cuz it does the xact same thing on both iDevices. Also non-responsive after I placed & got my order it stayed on that last "r8 your shopper" & I cannot get 2 the home page or anywhere from that last page. This is an app issue, NOT a Publix issue. Although Publix does have 1 issue that just may hurt Shipt; most of the items r never in stock. Publix needs 2 address this issue & go 2 school on consistency & communic8ion with the Shipt shoppers & actually have the items. I kno of a lot of people who r xtremely irrit8ed with Shipt 4 xactly this reason.
